Body Illustration Identity

Bears’ Confession

“A confession has to be part of your new life.” -Wittgenstein, Ludwig.
Don Chooi (let) and Christophe Jannin (right) took a leap to confess about their limbo contradictory situation between an explicit gay identity and their profession and art practice.

Workshop

During the period I organised and facilitated a casual sharing sessions (Body Illustration Identity) held at a gay pub.

Illustration Gay Bear, aimed to generate discussion of identity, location, design and sexuality. Two representatives were invited to speak about the subculture of gay bears and participants were then asked to consider the modification of their identity towards a gay bear figure.

The activities in both workshops raised my interest in generating a dialogical perspective to define liminal practices through groups discussion and interview videos. The state of being in-between acknowledges a mutual understanding of social mobility and adaptation.
