The Great Sea Reef Trust

Initial Proposal stage (April, 2016)

Kurukuru Ocean Reserve-fiji (KOR-fiji) Boundary Design is a project aim to protect, preserve and sustain some of the world’s best and most prestige waves, islands, reefs and oceans in Fiji.

As part of the consultant and advisory group – together with Anne Harper (Geo technician) and Sustainable Coastline (charitable trust) – I took on the role of a digital media specialist. As a digital and immersive designer, I was asked to look at the possibilities of a digital application that could serve as a platform to facilitate weather forecast, boundaries allocation, and total capacity of users in a day. This platform will be agile for public data input, the registration system for commercial and non-commercial mooring on the reefs and provide systematic data documentation for observation and preservation.

We visited the site on Cloudbreak marking possible marine reserve territory - and 'Ridge to Reef' restoration to improve water quality and well-being through jobs for the local villagers. Here’s an interview from Anne Harper.
